PhD Researcher Amanda Cooper presented her latest work at the BERA Annual Conference 2017 at the University of Sussex, giving a talk entitled “Reengaging Disconnected Youth Through Radio Drama: A Study Examining an Intervention to Promote Metacognition and Meaningful Dialogue”.

Amanda’s talk was part of a session entitled ‘The Play’s the Thing: radio drama, prison drama, wordless drama’ and was well received by all who attended. Whilst the wider theme of the session explored drama across several contexts, Amanda’s presentation focused on how the Initial Study of her research showed the potential for radio drama creation to create opportunities for participants to engage in meaningful dialogue.
