The Director of RadioActiive101 and Co-Director of the International Centre for Public Pedagogy (ICPuP), Andrew Ravenscroft, was invited to present the latest RadioActive101 research at the annual University of East London Research Conference. The role of RadioActive101 as a cross-faculty and interdisciplinary ‘Thought Leader’ through its brand of psychoeducation was presented at this year’s Conference, held on 29th June 2016 at University Square, Stratford.
Under the Sound and Speech strand Professor Ravenscroft represented the Cass School of Education and Communities alongside colleagues from Performing Arts (Guy Harries, ADI) and the School of Psychology (PhD student Jolanta Golan). Recent developments were presented in a talk Civic Engagement through Public Pedagogy Research into ‘interventionist’ Participatory Radio to fellow researchers from several faculties of the University.
All members of the recently expanded RadioActive101 family attended the presentations including both of the interdisciplinary funded PhD students and their supervisory team. The breadth of the work and increasing number of radio participants was highlighted in the variety of radio clips used (see main photo). This strand had a great deal of interest and the panel took numerous questions at the end of the session with questions continuing well into the lunch interval!
